UCCE Centennial Celebration, May 9, 2014 ~ You're Invited!

Be a Citizen Scientist For the Day and Help Us Celebrate!

Please accept our special invitation to attend this 100th Anniversary of Cooperative Extension celebration on May 9, between 3 and 6 p.m. at the Madera County Historical Museum in Courthouse Park, downtown Madera.

Please read the attached letter explaining the activities that will be taking place that day and we hope you will participate and help us celebrate.

This  postcard is a quick look at the citizen science projects in which you can participate at the park.

Free Plant Exchange ~ all types of plants will be exchanged.

  • Seeds, bulbs, cuttings, trees for your home garden.
  • GIVE what you have (not required) ~ TAKE what you need.
  • Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer all of your gardening questions.

Master Gardeners at the Madera District Fair

Master Gardeners will be presenting Floriculture Demonstrations at the Madera District Fair, September 5-8, 2013.  Be sure to take a few minutes to hear the Master Gardeners present on topics i.e. composting, succulents, landscape design and more. 

Look for both the floriculture demonstrations and the Master Gardener booth near the Floriculture Exhibit area.  Master Gardeners will be available to talk about all things gardening at the booth from 5 to 9 PM Thursday and Friday and 3 to 9 PM Saturday and Sunday.

Become A Master Gardener - September 19, 2013 6:00 P.M.

Do you love to garden?  And, are you willing to share your knowledge with the community?  If so, the University of California Cooperative Extension Madera County Master Gardener Program is looking for you!

Prospective Master Gardeners complete a 16 week training course and pass a final exam.  The 2014 class will begin on Wednesday, January 8 and run through April 23, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 

UCCE Madera county is now accepting applications for the 2014 Master Gardener Program.  Applications are available online here.    The deadline for applications is Monday, October 14.

A Master Gardener Orientation has been scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at the Madera State Center Community College (30277 Avenue 12, Madera) at 6:00 p.m.  Join the Master Gardeners for an informational meeting that will explain the program requirements.  It is highly recommended that you attend this informational meeting.

GLORIOUS GARDEN TOUR VII
